Denise Francis-Brown

Denise has worked in the fashion retail industry for over 20 years. She started her career as a wholesale textiles sample showroom assistant. Then, she found her passion in fashion retail as a visual merchandiser. Specialising in fashion visual merchandising, installing windows, in-store displays, and styling mannequins at stores such as Peter Jones (John Lewis), Wallis (Arcadia Group) and Jigsaw. These roles involved working closely with the buying, merchandising, and store operation teams. Liaised with the marketing teams at head office to promote marketing events and press days.
Prior to joining the University of Westminster, she was a part-time lecturer and also delivered visual merchandising training as a freelancer to consultancy agency ITG, The Skills Show, and the World Skills UK organisation.
Denise completed an MA Strategic Fashion Marketing course at the London College of Fashion before becoming a full-time Fashion Branding and Communication lecturer at the University of Westminster.
