Rayne Reed brings 25 + years of industry practices and principles into the learning environment of the MA Fashion Business Management programme. As an experienced business leader and educator, Rayne is committed to developing the next generation of fashion business professionals through their postgraduate academic studies, taking a theoretical, analytical and practical approach that supports students in their career objectives. Rayne is committed to ensuring the course curriculum presents the fashion industry from a broad range of global perspectives and that students have the opportunity to critically debate and evaluate the most critical issues in the industry.
Rayne’s perspective on the fashion industry has been shaped by living and working across many cultures – living, learning and adapting – both personally and professionally. Rayne’s professional portfolio illustrates a broad range of expertise within the fashion industry, working with brands such as Gap, Banana Republic, and Old Navy on their global growth journey as well as multi-brand high-growth e-commerce platforms like Zalora (Singapore) andModanisa (Istanbul). With expertise across various business, operational and financial models, Rayne’s specialisms include corporate strategy, systems and organisational design, merchandise range development, and business model innovation.
Rayne holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Finance and a Master of Arts in Cultural Leadership. Rayne is also an HEA fellow and has research interests in cultural representation, economic development and inclusivity in fashion education.
In addition to her work at the University of Westminster, Rayne volunteers for fashion non-profit organisations. In London, serves on the Board of Trustees for Little Hands Design, an educational charity that teaches the principles of sustainable fashion through the joy of design and making to school children.
