Our spacious campus in Harrow is home to the Westminster School of Arts. Alongside dedicated subject area facilities, Harrow campus offers students ad hoc working spaces and hosts an excellent library with individual and group study areas.

Technical Support & Facilities at Harrow Campus
The University of Westminster’s Harrow Campus provides a comprehensive range of technical facilities, supporting students across multiple creative disciplines. The technical team ensures access to industry-standard equipment, workshops, and expertise across several distinct hubs. These hubs cater to disciplines including emerging and immersive media, film and television production, audio and music production, digital imaging and photography, 3D fabrication, printmaking, and fashion construction.

Emerging Media Space (EMS)
The EMS is a hub for digital arts, immersive capture, extended reality, and creative coding. It includes dedicated spaces such as the Physical Computing Room, a Virtual Production Pod and Motion Capture Studio. Students have access to high-end computing resources and specialised equipment, including XR and immersive reality devices, 3D scanning tools, and digital fabrication technologies. A variety of workshops are offered in areas such as 3D modelling, digital painting, and interactive design.

Media & Moving Image
Film, television, and news production students benefit from industry-standard facilities, including two large double-height film and TV studios, a fully equipped newsroom, and a virtual production green screen suite. Post-production is supported through high-end edit suites featuring industry standard software, all integrated with shared storage solutions. The Virtual Production Pod, part of the EMS, enables students to explore emerging technologies in film and television production.

Digital Imaging & Photography
Harrow Campus houses six professional photographic studios equipped with Profoto lighting and advanced imaging tools. Traditional film photography is supported with black-and-white and colour darkrooms, including film scanning and digital printing facilities. The Photography Editing Suite provides dedicated workstations and colour-calibrated monitors for professional-grade image processing.
3D Fabrication Workshop
The 3D Workshop supports traditional and digital fabrication across wood, metal, ceramics, and plastics. Students can access facilities for laser cutting, CNC machining, and 3D printing, alongside traditional techniques such as welding, casting, and ceramics. The workshop offers structured training and technical support to facilitate independent project development.
Printmaking & Digital Print
Specialist printmaking facilities cater to screen printing, intaglio, relief printing, and textile dyeing. A dedicated digital print lab supports large-format printing, risograph printing, and high-quality mounting, with professional colour management systems ensuring accuracy in printed outputs.

Fashion & Garment Construction
The fashion studios are fully equipped with industrial sewing machines, pattern-cutting tables, digital embroidery machines, and industry software for digital garment design. Students have access to specialist equipment rooms and dedicated showrooms for fittings and presentations.
Audio & Music
The music facilities include 12 recording studios, live rehearsal spaces, and our flagship studio: featuring an SSL Duality mixing console, and a large capacity live venue. Studios are equipped with industry-standard software, mixing consoles, and professional monitoring setups, supporting both recording and live performance disciplines. Specialist training is provided through technical competency workshops. The audio and radio facilities include broadcast studios, podcasting booths, and multipurpose recording spaces, supporting both live and pre-recorded production. Equipped with industry-standard software and hardware, these spaces facilitate training in radio production, podcasting, and audio storytelling, with technical competency workshops available to support learning.
Equipment Stores
We have three dedicated equipment loan stores that provide access to professional-grade cameras, lighting kits, immersive media hardware, sound recording and music equipment. There is also a media shop offering consumables for sale. Equipment availability is tiered to ensure students’ progress through industry workflows over their academic journey. These facilities are supported by technical staff and provide students with the resources and advice they need to develop their creative and professional skills in a dynamic learning environment.
